Description

Milestone completed remediation work for the Sumas First Nation on a former historic brick plant site known as the Kilgard/Sumas Clay Products Brick Manufacturing Plant. It operated from the early 1900s and has been under community ownership and operation since 1979. The remediation work was to address contamination and pave the way for the establishment of a commemorative park dedicated to preserving the legacy of the brick plant and its importance to the Sumas First Nation. The site is also now in a state allowing for possible future property redevelopment.
