Description
Milestone Environmental Contracting Inc. completed a soil remediation project for two commercial properties located in Oakville, Ontario.
Key Challenges
- Navigating work around a high-voltage buried concrete encased hydro duct.
- Working within two properties within a commercial area
Key Solutions
- Design and installation of a concrete underpinning system to protect the high-voltage buried concrete encased hydro duct.
- Design and installation of a caisson wall shoring system to facilitate the excavation of impacted soils.
- Design and installation of a pile and lagging shoring system to facilitate excavation of the impacted soil.
Project Scope
Wyecroft Road
- Excavation and off-site disposal of 9,540 metric tonnes of non-hazardous contaminated soil to a licensed facility.
- Supply, placement, grading and compaction of over 8,060 metric tonnes of imported select subgrade backfill material.
Dorval Drive
- Excavation and off-site disposal of 2,695 metric tonnes of non-hazardous contaminated soil to a licensed facility.
- Supply, placement, grading and compaction of over 2,200 metric tonnes of imported select subgrade backfill material.
