Description
Milestone Environmental Contracting Inc. was awarded a contract by the Yukon Government for environmental restoration services to remediate hydrocarbon impacted soils using thermal desorption at the Marwell Tar Pit in Whitehorse.

Project Scope
- Site setup including clearing, stripping and grubbing.
- Extreme site regrading for treatment pad commissioning.
- Mobilization, installation, operation, and decommissioning of water treatment system.
- Excavating 52,00 tonnes of material.
- Treatment of 32,000 tonnes of hydrocarbon impacted material using thermal desorption process.
- Site restoration including regrading, placement of topsoil and reseeding.
