Description
This project required Soil washing, bioremediation and the remediation of three sites in Brantford, Ontario. The work involved barrier wall installation, excavation, stabilization service, and properly disposing of all other materials that cannot be treated on-site to a certified landfill facility.
Key Challenges
- Navigation across three properties intersected by a privately owned railway right of way.
- Installation of a remedial wall to a significant depth.
Key Solutions
- Developed a low permeability/ temporary shoring solution that proved equally or more effective, less expensive, and faster to install than traditional sheet pile or continuous caisson methods.
- Developed a slot-cut excavation technique that allowed for the safe, full-depth removal of soil adjacent to the barrier wall.
