The Indigenous Climate Resiliency in Watershed Zones to Protect Current and Future Development in the Fraser Valley, BC program was developed in response to a catastrophic atmospheric river flood in 2021, which devastated the watershed within the traditional territory of the Sema:th First Nation and surrounding communities in the Fraser Valley in BC.
Wochmel Milestone Joint Venture, a partnership between the Sema:th First Nation and Milestone Environmental Contracting Inc., in collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation and Transit, delivered a series of integrated restoration projects aimed at rebuilding and strengthening climate resilience across the region.
