Apitipi Resources LP and Milestone Environmental Contracting Inc. Announce New Partnership to Bring Mining Environmental Services to Abitibi Greenstone Belt

Media release

(September 23, 2024 – Matheson, Ont.) – Apitipi Resources LP (ARLP) today announced a new partnership with Milestone Environmental Contracting Inc. (Milestone) to add environmental expertise to its service offerings. The partnership will allow ARLP to provide remediation, revegetation, tailing management, and related services to the mining industry within the Abitibi Greenstone Belt and beyond.

“Milestone has a great reputation across Canada for their environment-first attitude within the natural resources sector,” said Sean McEachern, Director of Mining at ARLP. “They have worked extensively in Northern Ontario and similar regions in Canada, so they understand the realities of working here.”

McEachern added that ARLP is actively looking for long-term partnerships such as this one to complement the company’s services.

“We want to increase the resource pool in the area. However, we are looking for partnerships that benefit both parties,” he said. “Milestone’s business philosophy aligns well with our community values.”

Tyler Dilley, Milestone’s Regional Manager for Eastern Canada, said Milestone built its business model around partnerships rather than the traditional contractor model.

“We prefer to team up together in long-term relationships,” Dilley said. “For Milestone, it’s more about building capacity for the companies and communities we partner with.”

Dilley said that the company actively seeks out partnerships with First Nations and Indigenous owned companies in particular. “We try to be good corporate stewards, and we enjoy having a positive impact on communities… growing capacity and growing expertise. ARLP is a sophisticated company, and after meeting with them in Apitipi Anicinapek Nation (AAN), we’re looking forward to developing a close working relationship.”

McEachern said that the partnership allows ARLP to offer its clients a wide range of environmental services they couldn’t offer otherwise.

“Partnerships like this one allow us to expand our service offerings for our clients. Growing our company takes time. But growing our list of services for clients working on AAN Traditional Lands can be instantaneous, thanks to trusted partners like Milestone,” McEachern said.
