Key Highlights

  • A total of 30 Anishinabeg workers employed on the project.
  • A total of 812 hours of independent KZ truckers (dump trucks) were hired by the project.
  • Design and installation of an upstream rock cofferdam to divert Gatineau River flow around Corbeau Island.
  • Excavation and disposal of petroleum hydrocarbon impacted soil, sediment and concrete.
  • Removal, packaging and disposal of hazardous building materials (asbestos, lead based paint, bird droppings) from the hydroelectric station.
  • Site restoration, slope stabilization and seeding completed in December 2015, a full 5 to 6 months ahead of anticipated construction schedule.
